Beautiq Make-up Tips... |
-
Always apply
your make up in natural day light or if at night under a white
light. This will give a true reflection of how your make up will
look outside.
|
-
Leave 5
minutes between applying moisturiser and foundation. This allows
the moisturiser to be absorbed and will help prevent uneven
patches.
|
-
Foundation - begin with applying foundation to the nose and T-zone
area, blend outwards to minimise any tide marks around the jaw
line. Don’t forget to cover eyelids and lips to provide a base for
eyeshadows and lip stick/gloss. If using a mineral powder with an
SPF you can apply the product to the ears, neck and décolleté
area to give a more even coverage and
of course that all important UV protection.
|
-
Concealers -
less is more particularly around the delicate eye area, too much
product can draw attention to any imperfections, lines or
blemishes. Stipple a small amount of product onto the area and
then blend. Remove any excess with a cotton wool bud.
|
-
Eyeshadow -
Can be applied prior to foundation to stop any product spilling
onto the skin (especially useful with a smoky eye look) or you can
press translucent powder around the eye area before eyeshadow
application-it can then be dusted away at the end to ensure that
your foundation is not ruined. The key here is to blend blend
blend! Generally speaking lighter colours are kept to the inner
eye and darker colours applied to the outer quarter. Use a base
colour on the socket (can be taken up to below the brow line if
desired) and then use a small amount of highlighter on the inside
eye and just below the brow line to give the illusion of bigger
and more wideset eyes. The darkest colour can be applied in a
small triangular shape on the outer section of the socket or in a
‘C’ shape from the base of the eyelid up into the eye socket. With
both techniques use a clean brush to blend inwards and upwards.
|
-
Mascara -
coat bottom set of lashes first, then top using zig-zag strokes
into the root of the lash to get maximum volume and impact. Always
coat both sides of the top lashline to make them look thicker and
disguise any eyeshadow spillage.
|
-
Eyeliner - To
create a softer smokey look apply kohl eyeliner to the top of the
lid prior to eyeshadow application and blend along the line with a
small lipstick brush. Always apply liner starting 1/3 from the
inner eye, applying liner around the whole eye can give the
illusion of smaller more close set eyes.
|
-
Lipstick - To
prolong the wear of lipstick always apply foundation over the entire
lip area, then user lipliner followed by lipstick, blot and then
re apply the lipstick. You can always follow with gloss and the
colour will last.
|
-
Lip Gloss -
If you are using lip liner with gloss either blend the lip liner
well before applying the gloss (otherwise when the gloss wears off
you will be left with a line around your lips) or use the liner to
colour all of your lips and then apply gloss.
|
-
Blusher- Apply on the apple of the cheek in an upward
sweeping motion. Apply sparingly and build colour
gradually for a natural warm glow.
